Copula-Based Modeling of RIS-Assisted Communications: Outage Probability Analysis

Statistical characterization of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted communications in presence phase noise is an important open issue. In this letter, we exploit concept copula modeling to capture non-standard dependence features that appear due discrete noise. particular, consider outage probability RIS systems Rayleigh fading channels and provide joint distributions characterize dependencies use finite resolution shifters at RIS. Numerical assessments confirm validity closed-form expressions motivate bivariate for further studies.
